Sachin Dev Duggal Entrepreneur : An Builder AI Assembly line for apps

Conventional thinking says that one needs to know coding or be an engineer to create an application. Builder.ai proves it otherwise, getting Artificial Intelligence (AI) to do the job, or at least most of it. Says Sachin Dev Duggal, CEO and Founder of Builder.ai, “I am an engineer and many like me don’t want to do repetitive codes like Facebook login. We have to utilise engineers to do the important things—like the logic and flow of an application and actually thinking through a customer’s problem,” he explains.

Builder.ai treats app creation as an assembly line production process. When an app needs to be designed, the majority of it is done in the first couple of hours by the AI on his platform. And then, software engineers (from a workforce of 26,000) work on the little parts remaining to complete the app (like how technicians fix a car’s chassis, engine and wheels in a car assembly line), thereby leaving the repetitive work to AI and focusing on the creative parts that actually need human attention. The AI in Builder.ai platform, called the Builder, draws from a library of ‘Components’ to build the repetitive blocks which have already been built before.

Some 60% of software is ‘Components’ which need not be done again. This could be Facebook login or integration with an analytics provider,” says Sachin Duggal. The rest 40% is business logic and design. To do this, Builder.ai partners with a number of software companies from whom developers are brought on board, depending on the complexity and features of the project/apps that need to be delivered. The developers’ time do not overlap with their original employers.

Builder AI, CEO Sachin Dev Duggal said budget encourages skill development

As per Builder.ai, CEO and Founder Sachin Dev Duggal "The budget presented encourages skill development across the country, and especially within the tech industry--it’s a well grounded approach to propel India towards a $5 trillion economy. The focus on modern technologies like big data, VR, 3D printing, AI and IoT which will not only provide job opportunities for metropolitan urbanites living in the biggest cities, but also those in rural areas, as well. The proposal of 20 tech incubators in the agro sector along with the allocation of Rs.400 cr for higher education institutes to transform them into innovation labs is a clear indication about the kind of informed, technically equipped resources India is set to enable for the coming, ever-growing technology-driven industries.

Sachin Dev Duggal is the founder of SD Squared Labs

Sachin Dev Duggal is the founder of SD Squared Labs, a boutique complete services software & application development company.

I know Sachin Dev Duggal who is current CEO & Founder of Builder.ai as the guy who created Nivio, a company that actually let you get Windows apps on your freaking iPad, and it was all legal.

It was this beautiful thing. People loved it. And Sachin Dev Duggal Entrepreneur sold it. I thought we were going to do an interview about that and that’s what I’m all geared up for. Instead, that’s kind of going to be the backstory to what ends up being the actual interview, which is this new company that is actually bigger, more substantive and it’s called SD Squared.

It’s got this crazy freaking business model that if I didn’t know somebody who worked there, I wouldn’t believe it actually existed. If anyone goes to SD Squared and has SD Squared build an app, it costs no more than $25,000 for an app on any single platform.

If it’s more expensive, then they just do the work and they don’t charge you any more than $25,000.

I want to know if he is losing his shirt on this. And we’ll talk a little bit about this company that everyone in tech seemed to love, Nivio.

The next evolution in Computing

“Cloud Computing-The next evolution in Computing”

Cloud Computing is the next big leap in the computing world. For the uninitiated Wikipedia defines Cloud Computing as “Internet-based computing, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices on demand, like the electricity grid.”
The concept is a revolution that will have effects on many sectors, and industries that are computer reliant. Sachin Dev Duggal and Saurabh Pradeep Dhoot Founders are two individuals who are at the forefront of this revolution in India. Their venture Nivio promises to save time and money for those with computers remaining consumer friendly throughout.

sachin dev duggal
We found out more on Cloud Computing and Nivio from Sachin who was gracious enough to answer our questions…

What form of cloud computing is your company “nivio” bringing to India ?

nivio is a World Economic Forum - Technology Pioneer (2009) and a global cloud-computing innovator; with a unique vision of saving time and money by removing computing constraints and providing ubiquitous access everywhere.

Ultimately nivio see’s the computing world from the eye of the consumer – the interest is only in the software / content as ultimately that is the only thing consumable as such. With that in mind, its single-minded laser light focus remains on renting software and content to people with and without a windows machine. This could be a yet-to-be connected consumer or a power-user user just needing the app or even a non-Windows user wanting to use PC Apps on demand.

nivio’s flagship service is the world’s first Windows-based Online Desktop that enable customers to access a personal virtual desktop from any device connected to the internet. The nDesktop Service provides unrestricted storage and power, wherever you are with the ability to rent original and updated software on a rental (pay as you go) basis; liberating users from the traditional constraints of computing.

Founded in 2004 by Sachin Dev Duggal Entrepreneur and Saurabh Pradeep Dhoot, nivio is determined to change the complicated and expensive computing ecosystem of today.
